In another shocking first round pick by the Cleveland Browns, they selected Michigan safety Jabrill Peppers with the 25th overall selection in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Still unsure what position he’ll play at the next level, I’m sure defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has a plan on what to do with him in the NFL. He can play safety, linebacker as well as be a return guy.
Peppers reminds me of Mark Barron, who played under Williams with the Los Angeles Rams. Barron was a safety coming out of Alabama when Tampa drafted him in 2012. In 2015, Williams transitioned him to weakside linebacker and Barron has had a career resurgence with 240 tackles and two interceptions in two seasons as a linebacker/safety and it garnered him a $45 million dollar contract extension.
