The rivalry just took another turn.
There is a rumor floating out there that Michigan linebacker coach Al Washington is taking a job on Ryan Day’s staff at Ohio State.

Yoder is the head of Chat Sports. a sports video news network and is tied into the Michigan program.
Washington is the son of former Ohio State linebacker Al Washington who played four seasons for the Buckeyes before playing one season in the NFL for the New York Jets.
The 34-year-old has been with the Wolverines staff for the past season after being in multiple spots over his twelve year coaching career.
He’s spent time in RPI, Slippery Rock, Boston College and Cincinnati as a defensive line coach.
He also coached special teams and running backs at Boston College in his longest stay from 2012-2016 and it’s where he played collegeiately from 2002-05 as a defensive tackle.
That’s where the connection with Day comes from as well as the two were on the same staff in 2013 and 2014 when Day was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at BC.
Washington is also known for his recruiting like Yoder mentioned in his tweet and earned praise from Jim Harbaugh during the 2018 season.
The Buckeyes have been dominating “That Team Up North” since the 62-39 beat down in “The Game” in late November.
Five-star defensive end Zach Harrison, a Columbus native was committed to Michigan probably due to the recruiting by Washington before flipping and signing with Ohio State last month.
Now if Ryan Day can and it looks like he is getting someone from the Wolverines’ coaching staff then it could be another solid strike in the rivalry that’ll be in Ohio State’s favor.
