Round 1:
Pick 1:
The Cleveland Browns select QB Josh Rosen from UCLA.
Both Sam Darnold and Josh Rosen declared for the NFL Draft late Wednesday evening. The Browns are in their worst stretch in NFL history, and 1-31 the past two seasons.
Browns QB DeShone Kizer didn’t do enough to prove he was the future QB for this football team, inconsistency was a problem all season and he didn’t improve.
It seemed the longer the season went on, the worse he got.
DeShone finished the year with 2,894 passing yards, 11 touchdowns and 22 interceptions.
Josh Rosen is the best pure passer coming out of college since Andrew Luck. This pick is a no brainer for the Browns, Sam Darnold has to any mechanical issues and decision making issues to be drafted number 1.
Round 1:
Pick 4:
The Cleveland Browns select DB Minkah Fitzpatrick from Alabama.
Another no brainer for the Browns. This football team has to bring in talent to help their secondary. Minkah is the perfect player.
He can play CB, or safety, yet I see the Browns playing him at FS next to Jabrill Peppers.
Most versatile defender in the draft, great size, when he see’s the ball nothing will stop him from getting there and making a play.
He’s got everything you want at FS, from size to speed to his strength, the Browns cannot pass on Fitzpatrick.
Round 2:
Pick 33:
The Cleveland Browns select Isaiah Oliver CB from Colorado.
Cleveland improves their secondary with the first pick in the second round by selecting the 6’1 lockdown corner.
Oliver contributed in Colorado’s pass defense all year playing ten games he had two interceptions and had 12 pass deflections on the year.
Oliver also is a freak athlete and the Browns are looking for playmakers on both sides of the ball.
Round 2:
Pick 35:
The Cleveland Browns select RB Nick Chubb from Georgia.
After a inconsistent season once again by RB Isaiah Crowell it seems like this was his last season in Cleveland.
The Browns do have another dynamic playmaker at the position on the team in Duke Johnson, yet Hue Jackson has shown signs that he doesn’t trust Duke as the lead back.
Nick Chubb brings plenty of power and speed into the backfield for the Browns and carries the load as the lead back.
Round 2:
Pick 60:
The Cleveland Browns select WR Simmie Cobbs Jr from Indiana.
Easily one of my favorite prospects in the draft, Simmie Cobbs brings size and threat to Cleveland’s offense.
I see flashes of Mike Evans in Cobbs. The Browns are desperate for another wideout.
Josh Gordon looked good in the last five games of the year, and he’s saying all the right things, but after numerous suspensions due to his addiction, you never know if he’s back for good.
With that being said, Josh and Simmie as a one two combo could be scary for the secondary’s facing them in the AFC North.
Round 3:
Pick 65:
The Cleveland Browns select Martinas Rankin, OT from Mississippi State.
Round 4:
Pick 108:
The Cleveland Browns select DE Tyquan Lewis from The Ohio State University
Round 4:
Pick 137:
The Cleveland Browns select Frank Ragnow, C from Arkansas
Round 5:
Pick 145:
The Cleveland Browns select Cedrick Wilson Jr from Boise State
Round 5:
Pick 175:
The Cleveland Browns select Edge KJ Smith from Baylor.
Round 6:
Pick 185:
The Cleveland Browns select CB Devontae Harris from Illinois State.
Round 7:
Pick 219:
The Cleveland Browns select QB JT Barrett from The Ohio State University
