Browns needed another defensive tackle and they got him at the top of third round.
They selected defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi with the 65th overall pick.
I’ll admit that I’ve never heard of him until the selection was announced but when reading about him, it’s easy to see why the Browns selected him.
Here’s his scouting report by Nolan Nawrocki
Strengths
- Very quick off the snap
- Good athlete
- Flashes power in his punch
- Locates the ball quickly
- Four Year Starter
Weaknesses
- Small Hands
- Short Arms
- Needs to learn how to use hands better to seperate blockers
For the Browns, they needed a 3-Tech defensive lineman and Ogunjobi fits the mold. In terms of analytics and the SPARQ rating system which the Browns use, Ogunjobi definetley fits the mold.
Ogunjobi should compete with Jamie Meder and Desmond Bryant in training camp for the other starting defensive tackle spot alongside Danny Shelton.
