RG3 to start vs Chargers
Head coach Hue Jackson announced his decision to the media Monday afternoon about the quarterback position. He added a little twist to the situation however.
Jackson also let it be known that he wants to have another look at rookie quarterback Cody Kessler before the season ends.
That tells me that if Griffin doesn’t start strong on Saturday, we will see Cody Kessler back under center for the Chargers game and the season finale against the Steelers barring injury.
Griffin has struggled since returning from injury. He’s thrown 51.8% (29 of 56) for 300 yards and an interception. He’s also had a helping in the running game with 15 carries for 79 yards and two touchdowns.
Before his second concussion against Pittsburgh in Week 11, Kessler looked decent for a third round pick on a bad team. Despite an 0-8 record, he’s thrown for 65.6% (126 of 192) for 1,369 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions.
It’ll be interesting to see how short Griffin’s leash will be come Saturday.
Pryor tears ligament in finger
Wide receiver Terrelle Pryor tore a ligament in his finger during Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills and will be monitored throughout the week to determine if he’ll play on Sunday.
Pryor, who’s an unrestricted free agent in March has been one of the few breakout performers on the 0-14 Browns. With 67 catches for 877 yards and four touchdowns, he’s been right there with running back Isaiah Crowell as the best offensive player.
I don’t know what having a torn ligament in a finger feels like but I’m sure it’s painful and will be even more painful trying to catch a football. I expect Pryor to try and play through it to try and help the team try to avoid 0-16.
