The Cleveland Cavaliers have tied the 2018 Eastern Conference Finals with a 111-102 victory over the Boston Celtics in Game 4.

They once again brought the energy early much like they did in Game 3 and while Boston fought back in the second half, the Cavaliers held on and now have the momentum on their side as the series shifts back to Boston for Game 5 on Wednesday.

Lebron James once again delivered another dominant postseason performance as he recorded his sixth game of 40 points or more in this postseason, a career high for a single postseason. James finished with 44 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.

Cleveland needed another strong performance from the supporting cast and they once again delivered in Game 4.

Kyle Korver had 14 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks in 25 minutes of action off the bench. George Hill and Tristan Thompson had 13 points each and Kevin Love had 9 points and 11 rebounds.

Cleveland had 19 turnovers which was a big factor in why it wasn’t a blowout. Boston is a tough defensive team and obviously rattled Cleveland some but clearly not enough.

The ball movement also went away in the second half with just two assists in the second half and 15 overall for the game. Coach Lue needs to get these players to create more ball movement because the six quarters combined from Game 3 and the first half of Game 4 saw plenty of movement and had the offense clicking at a high rate.

The Celtics were down 16 after one quarter but they fought and cut it down to seven points in the fourth quarter. Coach Stevens has his team believing they can beat this Lebron led squad and they didn’t lay down completely like they did in Game 3.

Boston had all five starters in double figures led by Jaylen Brown with 25 points. Jayson Tatum had 17, Terry Rozier had 16 points along with 11 assists and six rebounds. Al Horford added 15 and Marcus Morris had 10. As a team they shot 41.2% from the floor and struggled from the 3-point line (9-28, 32.1%).

They’ve struggled on the road this postseason with a 1-6 record but now this series potentially becomes a best of 3 games and the Celtics have the home court advantage hosting Game 5 and potentially Game 7 where they’re 9-0 this postseason.

Cleveland is going to have to bring it at TD Garden with the same level and intensity that they did at Quicken Loans Arena. If they want to advance to their fourth straight NBA Finals, they’re going to have to win a game in Boston that Milwaukee and Philadelphia couldn’t do in the previous series.

Lebron James has been able to do it before and so have the Cavaliers, it’s time to do it again.
