The Cleveland Indians will be well represented for the All-Star Game next week in Miami.

Third baseman José Ramirez was voted in as a starter and he’ll be joined by Andrew Miller, Michael Brantley, Francisco Lindor and Corey Kluber who were voted in as reserves.

Manager Terry Francona will be the manager for the American League team after the Indians were the American League champions last season.

Cleveland was one of four teams to have five All-Stars each joining the New York Yankees, Houston Astros and Washington Nationals.

This is also the most Indians players to make the All-Star team since 2004 when they also had five (Ronnie Belliard, Matt Lawton, Victor Martinez, C.C. Sabathia, Jake Westbrook)

Ramirez is the first Indian since Juan González in 2001 to be voted on as a starter and this is his first All-Star selection. He’s on pace to have his best season as a professional, currently hitting .325 with a career high 15 home runs (previously 13 last season), 42 RBIs and an OPS of .963.

Brantley is having a great comeback season and was voted on by his peers to his second All-Star selection. After playing in only 11 games last season, this year he’s played in 60 games and is hitting .303 with five home runs and 31 RBIs.

Lindor will be making his second trip to the All-Star Game. While his batting average has taken a dip below his norm with it currently sitting at .248, he’s producing with power hitting 14 home runs and driving in 38 runs. There’s no denying his ability with his bat as well as his glove.

Despite a stint on the disabled list, Corey Kluber is making his second trip to the All-Star Game. He’s currently 7-2 with a 3.02 ERA along with 105 strikeouts and just 20 walks. Kluber continues to be the ace of the Indians rotation and will be the key to whether they head back to the postseason.

Another key piece to the Indians potential postseason is reliever Andrew Miller who is also making his second All-Star Game appearance. He’s 3-2 on the season with 17 holds as well as two saves. He’s thrown 65 strikeouts and only given up 10 walks in 42.1 innings pitched. No doubt the Indians two best arms in Kluber and Miller deserved their spots in Miami.
