With less than three weeks away from the 2025 NFL Draft, it’s still pretty clear that no one has a clue what the Cleveland Browns are going to do.
We’ve gone through basically every draft rumor at this point but it seems as though we’re down to three options at the second overall pick: Heisman Trophy winning two-way player Travis Hunter, pass rusher Abdul Carter, and quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
Every possiblity will sway the direction of the draft for the team which is why in this article, I will go through every scenario in a mock draft and then have you, the readers decide which scenario would be the best for the direction of the franchise. I’m only going to do a four-round mock with each scenario using the ProFootballNetwork Draft Simulator.
Scenario 1: The Browns draft Travis Hunter

Analysis: With the Browns going with Hunter at 2, the team looks to keep building the offense but with Kenneth Grant on the board at 33, that pick would be a no brainer as they also continue to bolster the defensive line around Myles Garrett. Henderson slides to 67 in the simulator, making it a no brainer selection as they rebuild the running back room. Arroyo gives the Browns a developmental tight end to groom behind David Njoku and the Browns take a flier on Will Howard in the fourth round as a developmental quarterback behind Kenny Pickett and perhaps Kirk Cousins.
Scenario 2: The Browns draft Abdul Carter

Analysis: The Browns pair up Myles Garrett with Abdul Carter to make a potentially dangerous 1-2 pass rushing duo for Jim Schwartz’s defense. The Browns turn their attention to the offense the rest of the way adding Omarion Hampton which would be a steal at this point in the draft process for the running back position. Despite the red flags, Browns take a chance on both Bond and Shough in the third round. Bond’s red flags are due to some off the field concerns while Shough has dealt with numerous injuries throughout his collegiate career. Cornelius would be a developmental offensive tackle who could replace Jack Conklin after 2025.
Scenario 3: The Browns draft Shedeur Sanders

Analysis: Some what consider it a reach but the Browns land their hopeful franchise quarterback in Sanders and then turn the draft into helping him out but drafting a bunch of weapons to surround him. Egbuka slides to the top of the second round to pair him up with Jerry Jeudy. Fannin Jr. comes home to Northeast Ohio to develop behind David Njoku and Cam Skattebo joins Jerome Ford and a hopefully returning Nick Chubb into the running back room. Browns draft Jordan Hancock in the fourth round and will determine if he’ll be a cornerback or safety at the next level.
So out of the scenarios I drafted, if I had to pick one I like above the rest, it’s the Sanders scenario. The Hunter scenario would be nice because I like the supporting picks I made behind that one with Grant, Henderson, and Arroyo and the developmental pick in Howard. The Carter scenario didn’t play out the way I would’ve liked but it was how the board fell although I’d love Hampton in a Browns uniform.
The Sanders scenario played out perfectly with the Browns adding skill positions with great value in Egbuka, Fannin Jr., and Skattebo adding to what the Browns already have on the offensive line as well as Njoku and Jeudy at the skill positions.
