It’s Draft Week and it’s as good of a time as ever to dive back into the past of the Cleveland Browns and their previous selections at each of the 2024 picks the team currently holds (54, 85, 156, 206, 227, 243).
The Browns have held the 227th pick two times in franchise history.
2002: Joaquin Gonzalez, Offensive Tackle, Miami (FL)

Gonzalez was the Browns seventh-round selection in the 2002 NFL Draft. He spent three seasons with the team, appearing in 41 games including fourteen starts at right tackle. After his tenure in Cleveland, Gonzalez wrapped up his professional career with the Indianapolis Colts in the 2005 season appearing in five games.
2013: Garrett Gilkey, Offensive Guard, Chadron State

Gilkey was one of the Browns seventh-round selections in the infamous 2013 NFL Draft ran by Joe Banner and Michael Lombardi. The offensive lineman spent just one season with the Browns before he was released prior to the 2014 season. He was claimed by Tampa Bay and spent two seasons there appearing in every game during the 2014 season before a knee injury ended his NFL career following the 2015 season.
